Watching and sketching the people in the Metro is one of my favorite pastimes. The above series of small watercolor drawings, In transit (triptych, 19x7.5 inches), reflects people in transit at the end of the day.
The center drawing is painted on hot press 140 lb watercolor paper. The surface of hot press paper is very smooth and the pigment floats on the surface for some time. The two other drawings are painted on cold press watercolor paper. Cold press has a bit more texture and is the traditional paper for watercolor.
